The Highland Course
Designed by Donald Steel and opened in 2006, the Highland Course delivers breathtaking Blue Ridge views at every turn. It plays tight and it plays long—stay in bounds. The mountain doesn’t give the ball back.
The course opens at 11:30 AM on September 21. Organize your foursome and lock in your time before arrival—don’t show up and hope for the best.
You can play either day. Arrive early and play Monday the 21st, or stay over and play Tuesday the 22nd—whichever suits your travel.

Tee times run in 15-minute intervals. It’s a tight mountain course that plays long—pace of play matters.
Colby Weiner, Golf Professional at Beau Rivage Resort, will be on the driving range from 2:00 to 4:00 PM offering complimentary lessons to all ticketed guests.
No registration required — just head to the range any time during that window. A great warm-up before your round, or a standalone stop if you’re not playing the full 18.
House colleagues are glad to fill out a foursome. When you contact the pro shop to set your tee time, reach out to Lauren—she’s keeping track of who wants to play with whom.
Men: Collared shirt with sleeves required. Slacks or golf shorts. No denim, T-shirts, athletic shorts, or tank tops.
Women: Golf dress, skirt, slacks, or shorts with a collared or mock-collared shirt. No denim or athletic shorts.
Shoes: Non-heeled athletic shoes. Soft spikes preferred.
If you are coming in a day early or making a golf trip of it, Olde Mill in Laurel Fork is the local pick — and it solves lodging and a second round at the same time.
Eighteen holes designed by Ellis Maples, open since 1973. Bent-grass greens, bluegrass fairways, water in play and a lot of bunkering. A genuinely good mountain course at a fraction of resort pricing.
Condos overlooking the 18th green, four-bedroom Birdie Lane cottages, cabins and a three-bedroom lodge — most with full kitchens. Built for groups, so a foursome can share a cottage instead of booking four rooms.
